A Note From Our First Official Guests

In March our first official guests visited Villa Palazzetta. The note they left in our guestbook says it all. But Maryellen, one of the guests, took time to write us a letter and send us a few photos. We'll let her photos and words tell the story.

Dear Jodi, Jack, Ed and Lee:

We had the best time staying at Villa Palazzetta! The pictures on the website make it look inviting and elegant. Being there exceeded our expectations, the views from the Villa are unparalleled. It was the perfect place for our group and the best experience we’ve had staying anywhere. We each had our own bedroom and bath and shared great times together in the common living spaces, both inside and out. The Villa is decorated with extraordinary photographs by renowned fine art photographer Ed Riddell and Plein Air painter Lee Riddell, and the furnishings are exquisite and inviting.

If you like to cook, you’ll be in heaven with the well equipped kitchen and dining area and there’s a great outdoor entertaining space right off the pool as well. If you would rather grab a meal in town, it’s literally a five minute walk. You can walk through the properties’ vineyard and olive grove to get there or walk along the road. The number of authentic, high quality Italian restaurants are plentiful, and all our meals were incredibly delicious and satisfying.

To top it off, the property managers and concierge, Lisa Jane and Matteo are a great team, they were both born and raised in Tuscany. They helped us book restaurant reservations, wine tours, and hired private tour guides for our day trips to nearby towns like Pienza, Monticchielo, and Siena. They are well versed about all things Italy and made our stay at Villa Palazzetta so comfortable and enjoyable.

We look forward to visiting Montalcino and staying at Villa Palazzetta again.

Can’t wait!

Maryellen, Don and Peter Frank

Here are a few of Maryellen's snapshots from their trip.

First day in Montalcino.

A walk around Montalcino's ancient walls with Lisa Jane, Villa Palazzetta manager and concierge.

Italians love their produce and so do we!

On the walk back to Pienza after an amazing lunch in Monticchiello.

Three buddies from childhood on yet another adventure.

As Don Frank wrote in our guestbook:

"IN VILLA VERITAS. We came so far to be so near."

We couldn't agree more. There is something about the Italian people, their culture and their food that makes you happy. Anybody whose spent any quality time in Italy will confirm it.

Maryellen, Don and Peter, you're welcome back any time!
