ACTIVITIES

You need time to see and do everything that's available in Montalcino and the surrounding region. That is why we like to suggest to stay at 6 days / 7 nights here at the Villa.

Of course, Montalcino is home to Italy's most famous wine, Brunello. There are 263 Brunello vineyards within a 5-mile radius of the historic city center. And the world attention from Brunello wine has made Montalcino one of the most thriving hilltowns in Italy.

So take our word for it. If you can, do spend some time here, you won't regret it.

When you're done you'll want to come back for more!

Explore

Montalcino

Day 1

First thing, you must spend some time exploring Montalcino. Take a walk around the historic city walls and marvel in the incredible panoramic views. Explore the beautiful shops, have a gelato and, of course, enjoy one of the many high quality restaurants that Montalcino has to offer.

Day 2

Take A Day Trip To Siena

Your personal Villa Palazzetta concierge is originally from Siena. She can arrange for one of the most knowledgeable Sienese guides to give you an "insiders" tour of this famous Renaissance city, including lunch at one of Siena's fabulous restaurants.

Day 3

Tour Brunello

Vineyards

Our concierge can arrange for your own personal tour of some the finest Brunello vineyards with an engaging local guide. This all-day tour will visit some of the large well-known Brunello estates as well as some of the lesser-known family properties. We'll even arrange a gourmet lunch at one of our favorite vineyards.

Day 4

Explore the

Val d'Orcia

Montalcino is in the scenic Val d'Orcia which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This designation protects the landscapes and hilltowns in the area. Spend a day visiting Pienza, Montepulciano, Monticchiello, Bagno Vignoni and San Quirico d'Orcia. These are some of Italy's most iconic hill towns and they are all within a 30 minute drive from Montalcino.

Take A Walk & Swim in a Thermal Pool

Day 5

Val D'Orica is a World Heritage Site. Because of this protection it looks a lot today like it probably did in the Renaissance. There are many paths and dirt roads you can walk.  You can end at an exquisite restaurant where you can enjoy a wonderful lunch or even at a thermal SPA for a rejuvenating dip.

Day 6

Take a Private

Cooking Class

Your personal Villa Palazzetta concierge can arrange for a private cooking class in the Villa's professional kitchen. Here you can learn how to make hand-made pasta and other local delicacies. And when you're done you'll have a beautiful meal of all you've made.
